Central City Opera

Get ready for summer! Central City Opera presents a concert of opera and music theater’s “greatest hits” and excerpts from their 2022 Summer Festival, featuring the musical The Light in the Piazza and operetta Die Fledermaus. Performers include CCO Touring Artists soprano Christie Conover, soprano Jenée Luquette James, mezzo soprano Lindsey Falduto, tenor Michael Hoffman, baritone Steve Taylor, and pianist Jeremy Reger. The CCO Touring Artist roster includes the region’s most talented opera and music theatre performers.

Opening for Central City Opera is Grande Orquesta Navarre, a local band that describes themselves as the “heartbeat of an old cabaret orchestra with the modern feel of cutting-edge new music, classical remixes and nuevo tango. Our unique style is both a throwback and a revelation.” Featuring CCO Touring Artist Sara Parkinson on piano, Susan Cahill on double bass, Tom Hagerman on accordion and violin, and Evan Orman on bandoneon and cello.

From July 2 – 31, the Central City Opera festival is a four-week extravaganza of storytelling and powerful voices, set in the pictueresque mountain town of Central City. Founded in 1932, Central City Opera is the fifth oldest professional opera company in the country and is renowned for its exquisite world-class productions, competitive and robust young artist training program and creative educational and community engagement activities. For tickets and festival information, call (303) 292-6700 or email boxoffice@centralcityopera.org.
